Diana Vishneva's Context festival

This international festival of contemporary dance takes place in Moscow and St. Petersburg each year. Every time the festival brings here world premieres, unique collaborations, and critically acclaimed productions created by both recognized and emerging choreographers.

The opening gala will be on the 13th of November and the 14th of November in Moscow.

The Gala evening will host a world premiere of a new work Asunder by Spanish choreographer Goyo Montero. Besides, works ("FAR" and "Witness") will be presented that were created by one of the most critically acclaimed British contemporary dance choreographer and "who defined the decade" according to Time - Wayne McGregor. The "Witness" will be presented by unique ballerina, Alessandra Ferri, who came back on the scene at the age of 50 four years ago. Other events of the opening gala include "I will fall for you" work by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, ballet "Chutes and Ladders" by one of the most sought-for young U.S. choreographers Justin Peck, and a Russian debut of the main Los Angeles-based contemporary dance company BODYTRAFFIC. The end of the evening will be marked by the final pas-de-deux from the "Sleeping Beauty" created by Goyo Montero and performed by the fesitval founder Diana Vishneva in a duet with the Nuremberg Ballet soloist Oscar Alonso.

On the 15th of November there will be "Ballets by Igor Stravinsky" in Moscow at 7 p.m. These ballets include 3 one-act plays set to music by Igor Stravinsky: "The Fairy's kiss", "Petrushka" and "The Firebird". The main role of Petrushka will be performed by Diana Vishneva.
