Chekhov International Theatre Festival

Chekhov International Theatre Festival takes place in Moscow during 28 years every 2 years for 1.5 months. This year it lasts till July 21, 2019. During this time you can see theatrical performances from different countries. This year 22 theatres from 15 cities came to Moscow. Parade of trams

Moscow tram celebrates its 120th birthday this April, so if you are in Moscow on April, 20th 2019 you could see the traditional yearly Parade of Trams. There will be 18 models of trams presented from Soviet ones to even the car of the XIX century that was driven by horse.

Ceremony of changing guards in the Kremlin

Starting from the next week (1st Saturday of April) you would be able to see again the mounting parade of horse guard and foot guard of the Presidential Regiment in the Kremlin. This event is highly recommended by us to see during your stay in Moscow.

Art exhibition by Edvard Munch

From April 16th, 2019 to July 14th, 2019 Tretyakov Art Gallery together with Munch Museum in Oslo and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts will present works of a famous Norwegian expressionist Edvard Munch (1863-1944). About 70 paintings and 30 graphic works will be presented there. One of them is a famous 'The Scream'. 

It is interesting to know that Munch's way of thinking and perception of the world were greatly influenced by works of a Russian renowned writer Fyodor Dostoevsky. So the main theme of the exhibition will be 'Munch and Dostoevsky'.

Exhibition of paintings by eminent Russian artist Ilya Repin

From March 16th, 2019 to August 18th, 2019 Tretyakov Art Gallery will host a large-scale art exhibition of works by eminent Russian artist Ilya Repin (1844-1930). On the 3 floors of the gallery there will be present more than 180 paintings and 130 graphic works. This event is unique as there has never been such a large-scale exhibition of works by Repin before. 26 museums from Russia and abroad in addition to a number of private collectors take part in it.

Art exhibition 'VIVA LA VIDA. Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera'


For the first time there is a large-scale art exhibition of Mexican painters in Moscow. 90 art works by one of the most famous couples of the 20th century are presented in Moscow. You can see different works of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera: paintings, illustrations, sculptures, etc. In our Instagram account (@travelassistance) there is a small reportage from the exhibition.

The exhibition will work till February 22, 2019. The opening hours are 10:00 - 21:00.

Exhibition 'Picasso & Khokhlova'

Now and until February 3rd, 2019 (from 11am to 8 pm) there is an art exhibition named 'Picasso & Khokhlova' in one of our famous museums jointly with the National Picasso Museum in Paris and the Almine and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso Foundation for Art (FABA) in Madrid. This exhibition is devoted to Picasso and his first wife Olga Khokhlova from a noble Russian family with whom he became a famous artist.

'Dreams about Moscow' exhibition

Now and until March 20th, 2019 there is an interesting exhibition named 'Dreams of Moscow'. There are 13 dreams in which things from Soviet times think about themselves and their owners. This is almost an immersive theatre. You can watch our small reportage from the exhibition (about two dreams: 'Disco of the USSR' and 'Alcove melodrama') in our Instagram account @travelassistance. 

The exhibition is open every day besides Monday from 10am to 8pm and 11am to 9pm (on Thursdays)

Ice show during the "Journey to Christmas" festival

During the festival you can watch different ice shows in various festival sites where Russian famous figure skaters take part. One of such ice shows "Nutcracker" you can watch every day at 15:30 during the first half of the festival (December 14th, 2018 - December 28th, 2019) at the skating rink on the Red Square. Evgeny Pluschenko takes part in this performance.

During the second part of the festival (December 29th, 2018 - January 10th, 2019) you can watch "Snow King" ice show here that is based on the "Snow Queen" fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. For the last three days of the winter festival there will be an ice show "Kings of ice" with Evgeny Pluschenko (January 11th - January 13th).
